Pokhara, a city some 200km to the west of Kathmandu.
We arose bright and early, and went on a short trek to the peak of a hill to watch the sunrise light up the Himalayan peaks.
This is what we saw:
That's Annapurna on the left and Fishtail Mountain on the right.
Here's a closeup of the peak of Annapurna:
An interesting succulent Euphorbia plant in the foreground; Annapurna in the background.
We walked through a farm...
And passed some Nepalese graves:
Later we went on another hike. We started at Lake Fewa.
We went in rather rickety canoes to the other side, and started hiking up the path to the World Peace Pagoda, which sits atop a hill overlooking Pokhara. Yes, those trees with the red tufts are poinsettias.
Finally, the World Peace Pagoda!
We took a different route back. We passed through some lovely countryside.
In the evening we walked around the lake.
A beautiful day!
And in the evening, we went to a Punjabi restaurant. Outside, people were playing street music. Forgive the darkness of this video.
