Right now I'm spending a week in
rural Illinois, doing some family history and cemetery research. I came at the right time because the
pink dogwood (
Cornus florida rubra), a common tree in these parts, is in bloom. They're striking trees, especially when you see them in the middle of the woods.

I've been camping in
Siloam Springs State Park, which has some nice hiking trails. I plan to spend an afternoon hiking in the woods.
That's all I have time for at the moment...
