Chris in America

I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area right now, visiting home for a couple months. I'm here to help my folks take care of some issues. I haven't done too much yet but stock up on needed items and take care of some pressing problems. I'll let you know if anything exciting happens.

I may do a few hikes too.

Pita stand

A long-time friend of mine, Nick, opened a street-side pita stand in Taipei late last year. He spent a couple years perfecting his recipes, sometimes using me as a guinea pig. The food he sells, in my trying-to-be-unbiased opinion, is among the best on the street. Tasty, spicy chicken curry pitas.

It's located in the alley next to the Watson's near Exit 3 of the Taipower MRT station. It's highly recommended, not only by me. Robert said it's better food than is available at a popular pita place in Vancouver that he visited recently.

His wife Clara usually cooks the food in the evenings, and I often stop by to grab a bite and have a chat. Sometimes there's a rush of customers.

Nick is constantly thinking of new menu items. Lately they've been experimenting with tuna recipes. Already they serve chicken pita and subs (5 flavors), fried rice, and thick-cut fries with delicious sauces like basil and honey mustard. So if you're ever in the Shi-Da area of Taipei...
